Alumni

Alumni are always welcome back at Bossley Park High School, recently we had a group of Year 12 2014 come in to speak with our current year 12 Students about Life after the HSC.

The two Nathans, Bossley alumni making big waves in their sporting fields.

Nathan Sherlock

Nathan Sherlock

On 18 May 2011 he signed a professional contract A-League club Sydney FC. Sherlock was called up to the senior Sydney FC squad for their 2011 Asian Champions League campaign, however did not feature in any matches, despite traveling with the team to Japan for a game. He made his debut for the club during the community round of the 2011-12 A-League season during their 1-1 draw with Perth Glory at Campbelltown Stadium. However, as a result of Sydney FC failing to qualify for the A-League finals, Sherlock, along with teammates Paul Reid, Krunoslav Lovrek, Trent McClenahan, Adam Griffiths and Jarrod Kyle were released by Sydney FC at the conclusion of the 2012-13 A-League season.

He subsequently joined Sydney United in the NSW Premier League where he won the championship under Mark Rudan in 2013.

Nathan Morcom

Nathan Morcom

A brief history, in 2011.

Nathan embarked on the biggest challenge of his short motor racing career. The American F2000 Championship Series pitched him against a full field of other ambitious young racers, as well as some very fast and experienced older drivers.
It was an ambitious campaign for the teenager, but he stunned the experts by winning his debut F2000 race on a rain-soaked Virginia International Raceway!

However, a string of frustrating car problems during the remaining rounds prevented Nathan from finishing higher than eighth in the final pointscore, but he closed the year by winning the final round of the Australian Production Car Endurance Championship at Eastern Creek, NSW, in December. He and fellow Aussie young gun Chas Mostert drove their Direct Plasterboard Outlet-Rondo Class B BMW 335i to an upset win over several Class A all-wheel drives in the six-hour enduro.

Nathan Morcom in F2000 Championship Series

Nathan returned to America for a second F2000 Championship Series campaign, but at the first round his team's brand new car was no more better than the old one. Despite that bitter disappointment, Nathan returned to Australia and scored his fourth successive class win in the Australian Production Car Endurance Championship round at Phillip Island a fortnight later.

Swtiching teams for the second F2000 round proved unproductive, so with little chance of a good result in the series Nathan cut his losses and returned to Australia for the rest of the year. In September he scored promising results in the chaotic Australian Formula 3 Drivers' Championship finale at Phillip Island, setting up a return for a full campaign in 2013.

"Guess I've made you wait long enough. Australian GT this weekend with ex-F3 John Magro in the M-Sport Lamborghini Gallardo GT3. It's a 101 lap race and I like the track and enduro racing so bring it on!" NM

Unveiling of the time capsule
