The Gifted and Talented Netball Program sets a high standard for athletes hoping to excel in Netball. The program encourages the promotion of netball and maintaining young people’s participation in the sport at a variety of levels. Students are provided with the opportunity to improve their skills, umpire, participate as coaches and empowers players to shine!
The GAT Netball Program is offered to any student willing to trial. These students can be from years 7 - 12. Netball is offered throughout the year and involves two sessions per week (1 during a sport period). A major priority is to encourage the participation of students in sport and to develop and maintain active and healthy lifestyles. Therefore, players of all levels are encouraged to join the program.
The program is designed with skill progression in mind and developing physical and mental skills is a key component encompassed within. Students will also build an extensive knowledge of the method and tactics of the game, incorporated in a progressive manner. Athletes can move from the basics of Netball progressing through to advanced playing skills and game strategies by the completion of the program.
Students will be participating in a range of extra-curricular Netball activities. These include playing in tournaments against other competitive netball squads organised by Sydney South West Sport Association, Netball NSW as well as participating in relevant skill development clinics offered by local Netball Associations.
